Who we are
We started Irregular because we wanted to help ambitious organisations make neurodiversity a strategic advantage.
Everybody’s brain is a little bit different - that’s good. And this natural variation in how people think, process information and experience the world is something organisations can use - to build better products, navigate complex problems and make a more meaningful difference in a rapidly changing world.
An Irregular workplace isn’t about lowering standards, avoiding discomfort or reducing personal responsibility. It’s about lifting barriers to participation, removing unnecessary friction and designing flexible systems that enable all kinds of different brains to flourish.
Fred brings insight from the corporate world, with a background in sales, training, and performance-driven environments. He understands the realities of outcome-focused working - targets, metrics, and the pressure to deliver - and how rigid systems, built to drive growth, can end up holding it back.
As someone with ADHD, he knows first-hand how standardised workplaces can undermine focus, innovation and productivity. That lived experience fuels his belief that well-designed systems can turn cognitive difference into a source of strength.
He’s a strong advocate for workplace design that removes friction, enables clarity, and helps people contribute to their full potential.
Andy comes from the social care sector, where he’s led services that support neurodivergent individuals to live more independently and meaningfully. He’s designed and delivered supported housing schemes, built teams from the ground up, and created the systems and practices that allow teams to succeed.
As an autistic person, Andy brings both personal insight and professional experience to the work. He understands how flexibility of approach can allow neurodivergent people to maximise their effectiveness, while also maintaining their wellbeing.
His background in training, consulting, and service design has shown him that the most effective systems are the ones that adapt to the people using them.
Together, Fred and Andy bring two distinct ways of seeing the workplace: one shaped by performance, outcomes, and commercial realities; the other by support, structure, and lived experience of care.
As neurodivergent professionals themselves, they understand both the challenges of standardised systems and the opportunity that comes from designing with cognitive difference in mind. That balance is at the heart of Irregular’s approach - designing workplaces for differently-shaped brains.
